Artist Statement

"Flowers are a ceaselessly renewing. They give beauty and delight! How is that? Why is that? If I slow down and let these questions sink into me, flowers – in all their everydayness -- bring me to the mystery of life and creation. As a painter, I find their form and color endlessly engaging and challenging. How to describe them without diminishing their vitality? How to engage with them as equals and willing participants in the creation of a painting? How to dance with their beauty and delight and mystery? We know them – flowers. And we don’t them – these nameless wonders. Jordan Wolfson

“Flowers, more fleeting, more ethereal, and more delicate than the plants out of which they emerged, would become like messengers from another realm, like a bridge between the world of physical forms and the formless. They not only had a scent that was delicate and pleasing to [us], but also brought a fragrance from the realm of spirit.” Eckhart Tolle"

In this showcase, Jordan Wolfson, along with the evocative words of Eckhart Tolle, invites us to ponder the profound connection between the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the intangible. This exhibition is not merely a display of artistic skill; it is an invitation to experience the ineffable mystery of life and creation through the medium of flowers. Each piece serves as a testament to the artist's commitment to engaging with these natural wonders as equal partners in the act of creation, seeking not to capture but to commune with their essence.

Gallery 1261 takes pride in providing a space where art and philosophical inquiry meet, where visitors are encouraged to slow down and immerse themselves in the beauty and complexity of the natural world as interpreted by our artists. We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating this unique exhibition, where each painting is a dance of color, form, and spirit, echoing the delicate yet powerful presence of flowers in our world.
